Insurance giant Old Mutual has launched Omcard prepaid and reward programme in Namibia utilizing BPC Banking Technologies’ SmartVista platform.
OMCARD is a prepaid Visa card specifically designed for Old Mutual’s customers providing them with a cash-back rewards program and the ability to link up to four additional cards for their family members.

The cards other transactional offering includes free person to person money transfers via mobile phone; free point of sale card swipe usage as well as easy airtime and safe online purchases.
For this project, BPC Banking Technologies installed its SmartVista platform at Payment Express (PEX), Mauritius and in partnership with Bank Windhoek.
Ben Jacobs, operations executive at Old Mutual Namibia, said: "In launching the OMCARD we wanted to deliver a secure, easy to use and innovative product that is of value to our customers. To do this we knew that we needed to partner with leaders in the field of payments processing and banking and that’s why we chose PEX with the SmartVista solution and Bank Windhoek.
"We enjoy the results and with SmartVista’s proven capabilities we are confident that our customers will continue to see the benefits," Jacobs added.
