According to a research realised by Kaspersky, a Russian security company, more than one in three UAE smartphone or tablet users rejects mobile banking.
The research, conducted by B2B International in conjunction with Kaspersky Lab, reveals that users from the UAE do not trust the reliability of mobile device protection while shopping or banking online.
The survey find that 37% of the respondents in the UAE would never use a smartphone or a tablet in order to conduct an online transaction, like paying for goods on online stores.
When it comes to the global numbers, only 22% of tablet and 27% of smartphone users have no concerns in entering financial information from their devices.
The fact that Android is the most spread mobile operating system and also the most attacked by cybercriminals explains why 90% of all existing mobile malware samples are developed for Android, as Kaspersky Lab finds.
In 2012, the company’s experts found 35,000 malware samples for Android.
The fact that some users have ditched these devices altogether may explain why 24% of those surveyed in the UAE would not use Android.
