US-based apparel retailer Pacific Sunwear of California (PacSun) has teamed up with BTM Global, a provider of retail system integration and development services, to implement and integrate EMV software for the retailer.

The implementation will enable PacSun, which operates over 494 outlets in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, to accept credit card and debit card payments based on the global standard.

The retailer selected BTM Global’s experienced service team to provide the design, development, testing, delivery, pilot support and production life-cycle support services for EMV, tokenisation, point-to-point encryption and payment settlement integration.

By achieving EMV compliance across its chain of stores, PacSun will boost payment security and protection of its customers’ sensitive data.

PacSun senior vice president of operations Jon Brewer said: “We were impressed by BTM Global’s proven track record of deep EMV experience and its strategic approach to clients’ needs.

“We’re pleased to be working with an expert partner on a project that’s critical to our business operations and success.”
