Nigeria-based Fidelity Bank has partnered with PayPal, whereby its payment cards will be accepted on the platform, allowing individuals and businesses to make international payments.

With this tie up, Fidelity Bank’s cardholders will be able to shop from the world’s major international retailers with no payment hassles.

A statement of Fidelity Bank was cited by thisdaylive.com as saying, "Coming on the heels of the proposed nationwide adoption of the CBN’s cashless initiative from July 1, this move is seen as part of the bank’s efforts at boosting electronic payments and fostering ease of transactions."

Speaking on behalf of the Fidelity Bank managing director/CEO Nnamdi Okonkwo, electronic banking divisional head Adédèjì Olówè told the publication that PayPal will enhance its customer offerings.

"We believe that our customers will benefit immensely from this innovation, and the registration process is straight forward."

Other services are expected to be introduced in the coming months.
