PDI, a provider of ERP, fuel pricing, logistics, and marketing cloud solutions for retail and petroleum industries, has acquired mobile payment technology provider ZipLine.
The acquisition of ZipLine will expand PDI’s loyalty offering.
It is expected to help strengthen the PDI Marketing Cloud Platform with integrated digital payments.
ZipLine’s private label debit and mobile payment application combined with PDI Marketing Cloud Platform enables merchants to boost customer engagement for their loyalty programmes.
ZipLine, which processes over six million monthly transactions for retailers, has enabled operators to save over $50m last year in credit card fees.
The operators invested this amount back into rewards and incentives for their consumers, resulting in greater customer loyalty.

By GlobalDataZipLine CEO Stephen Goodrich said: “We feel confident that PDI is the perfect match for our best-in-class payment platform. The combination of both entities will strongly support our merchant partners in enhancing the guest experience and brand affinity.”
PDI will add ZipLine’s mobile payment gateway to its ecosystem, to deliver rewards, offers and promotions to customers for making purchases in-store and at pumps.
PDI president and general manager of marketing cloud solutions Brandon Logsdon added: “With the addition of ZipLine, we have built a holistic ecosystem that begins with a mobile transaction at the pump, includes consumer loyalty, CRM, and offers that provide total transaction visibility in the back office, enabling unmatched insights.”
