By GlobalDataIt will be second card by both the companies and follows the launch of a Pi wallet credit card in 2018.
PChome Online chairman Jan Hung-tze told The Taipei Times: “We have designed this card with young people in mind. As long as they are older than 15 and have an E.Sun bank account, they can apply for this card.”
Jan added that the company preferred to roll out a debit card over another credit card because as the latter has more strict requirements and students as well as new graduates are unable to meet them.
E.Sun Financial president Joseph Huang said: “People can apply directly for the card on their smartphones without having to set foot in one of our branches.”
After submitting their card information on the Pi mobile wallet app, the users can purchase the card immediately, even before they get a physical copy.
Jan added: “We are also offering many promotions and reward programs to debit card holders.” He further explained that users will be offered a 2.5% P coin payback one each shopping.
Pi Mobile has teamed up with consumer-to-consumer shopping site Ruten.com and online beauty brand 86 Shop to attract new generation customers.
Han said that the cardholders will get a 4.5% P coin payback for transactions done at both the channels.
