Pinnacle, a US-based provider of point-of-sale (POS) solutions, and Worldpay have partnered to enhance their security by certifying the integration between the Pinnacle Palm POS and Worldpay payment processing host.
With the certification, the combined solution is now compliant with EMV, a standard for credit payment cards using chip card technology.
The certification will help petroleum retailers by minimising the liability faced by them while accepting chip cards for indoor transactions, and protect Pinnacle merchant partners from card-present chip card fraud.
Merchants using Pinnacle Palm POS can leverage the solution with existing hardware to help keep pace with regulatory mandates.
Pinnacle director of product management Melissa Fox Hadley said: “The completion of this certification effort with Worldpay means that the fully integrated Palm POS solution will give retailers one of the highest levels of protection available against card-present data fraud by accepting chip cards.
“We are thrilled to work with Worldpay to offer our POS clients a safer, more secure payment method, while also reducing those retailers’ fraud liability exposure.”
