Qatar National Bank (QNB) has launched mobile
banking service “eazypay”, the first mobile-to-mobile payment
system offered in Qatar.
Eazypay is a real-time payment system that
allows retail customers to transfer funds to friends and family
using their mobile phones.
Transactions are completed using a simple SMS
text message allowing payment to any other QNB registered
individual. No account details are required.
Payments are made using the recipient’s
mobile phone number and the funds are transferred in real time with
confirmation text messages sent to both sender and receiver.
The bank also plans to extend
the service by offering businesses and government entities access
to the technology. For the corporate market, it will provide
additional support services to supplement QNB’s existing e-payment
solutions with mobile payment options via eazypay.
