British financial network Rapyd has launched Rapyd Checkout, a hyper-local payments solution that supports more than 500 locally preferred payment types.

The solution will allow merchants to accept local payment types including cash, bank transfers, local cards, and e-wallets in 100 plus countries.

Through a single integration, merchants can accept local payment methods all around the world for day to day transactions.

The company noted that its platform will offer global businesses an easy access to new cross border customers or customers who are looking to expand payment methods in the local market they serve.

The solution is also equipped to manage local regulatory and compliance issues. It leverages a single reconciliation process across multiple countries.

Rapyd chief product officer Helcio Nobre said: “Today, only 6% of the world’s population has a credit card, yet more than two billion consumers transact in local markets with a diverse set of payment methods like cash, bank transfers, e-wallets, and local debit cards.
