Samsung Gulf Electronics has rolled out mobile payment solution Samsung Pay for online/web checkout in the UAE, expanding its use from in-store purchases.
The launch has been facilitated in collaboration with Mashreq Bank through the CCAvenue payment gateway.
Samsung Pay can now be used to make simple and secure transactions with majority of operating systems, browsers and mobile applications on any type of device such as desktop or tablet.
Samsung Gulf Electronics head of enterprise for mobile business Mohammad Gharaibeh said: “We are delighted to announce this new feature to the Samsung Pay service, which will enable users to use their mobile wallet for even more transactions moving forward.
“We are proud to have both simplified online purchases for our users and to have given them extra peace of mind with the additional security that Samsung Pay provides.”
UAE is the first Middle East country to get the upgraded service, and Samsung is planning for subsequent launches in the US, Russia and Singapore.
