Santander Bank has reduced the daily limits on credit and debit card spending and withdrawals to protect customers who were affected with the recent data breach at Target stores between 27 November and 15 December 2013.
The move by the lender is to protect its customers’ accounts from fraud. It is simultaneously issuing new card to the impacted customers.
The bank is also urging customers to monitor their accounts and report any unauthorised transactions, especially those authorised without a PIN.
Customers can view their account information online at Santander.com or through mobile banking.
Santander Bank operates 706 branches and 2,084 ATMs in the country with presence in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
