UnionPay International has joined forces with Saudi lender Al Rajhi Bank to allow acceptance of UnionPay cards in all ATMs and merchants of the bank.
Following the deal, UnionPay card will be accepted in 4,000 ATMs and over 10,000 POS terminals of Al Rajhi Bank, which is the largest ATM acquiring institution in Saudi Arabia.

UnionPay card ATM acceptance was introduced in Saudi Arabia in the end of 2014. The latest move has brought the coverage ratio of ATMs and merchants accepting UnionPay cards in Saudi Arabia to 30% and 20% respectively since the end of last year.
At present, UnionPay cards are accepted in over 150 countries and regions overseas, and in over 30 million merchants and 2 million ATMs across the globe.
