Seqr Payments, part of Sweden-based payments company Seamless Distribution, has been approved by Mastercard as an issuer in Europe.
Leveraging the partnership with Mastercard, Seqr will be able to use its e-money license to open up mobile payment opportunities within the European market.
Serving as a principal member of the Mastercard network, Seqr can now issue contactless Mastercard payment products within Europe.
Seqr Payments believes that the collaboration will also enable its payments business to drive its growth agenda within the mobile payments industry.
Seamless Distribution CEO Tomas Jalling said: “We are proud to become part of the Mastercard network as a Mastercard issuer.
“This will further strengthen Seqr in its endeavour to become one of the leading European providers of mobile payment solutions.”
Seqr said that more than 30 million contactless card terminals now accept Seqr as it is said to be the safe, fast and easy way to pay by mobile.
