Financial technologies provider SIA has opened a specialised centre for payment cards in Verona, Italy.

The centre is capable of producing an average of 10 million cards annually. Additionally, it equipped to manage every stage of card issuance, from conception to distribution.

Complying with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Card Production and Provisioning standards, the centre will also personalise all bank and loyalty cards.

The Verona centre will produce PVC cards, metal cards as well as products based on chip, contactless or biometric technologies.

In Italy, the company recorded 92 million card payments in pre-Christmas week of last year.
