Starbucks now offers its Mobile Order & Pay in all of its 7,400 company-owned shops around the US. This announcement comes three months ahead of the nationwide schedule.

Mobile Order & Pay is on the Starbucks app and is now available on both Apple and Android devices and allows customers to order and pay for their coffee and food in a remote location and then pick it up in store. The app was refined before the expansion to help customers customise orders, check inventories and accurately calculate pick-up times.

Chief Executive Howard Schultz said the Mobile Order & Pay was bolstering sales and profit and the technology was potentially luring customers who may have been turned off by the long queues and waiting times.

Starbucks initially tested this feature in Portland, Oregon last December before expanding it to the Pacific Northwest in March and plans to introduce Mobile Order and Pay in select stores in the United Kingdom and Canada in October.
