Synchrony has introduced a new voice assistant technology for Amazon Alexa to help customers manage their Amazon Store Cards.

Available for Amazon.com and Amazon Prime cards, the Store Card skill can be used to check account information, recent purchases and charges, obtain payment due details, and for paying the bill.

To avail the new service, cardholders have to use their Synchrony Bank account details to login the Alexa App and record a four-digit voice key.

The voice key is needed to access the Store Card account through any Alexa-enabled device.

Synchrony CEO of retail card Tom Quindlen said: “The Store Card skill for Amazon Alexa demonstrates our focus on exploring new ways to deliver the best possible experience to our customers.

“We’re harnessing voice technology to let consumers manage their Amazon Store Card in a way that’s most convenient to them.”

The company developed the initial concept for the Store Card skill through its internal innovation programmes such as hackathons and global innovation centres.

In the future, Synchrony intends to expand the voice payment technology to its other retail cards.
