Temple University Japan Campus (TUJ) has collaborated with remittance firm Western Union to simplify tuition payments for students.
The university will leverage GlobalPay for Students, which enables one to review payment options using a price comparison tool.
One can lock-in exchange rates for 72 hours through the platform.
The platform’s API facilitates automatic entry of details such as student number, name, invoice ID and payment amount, provided by the university.
Students can use the platform to make payments in their local currencies.
The platform also enables students to track their payments.

By GlobalDataWestern Union Business Solutions country manager for Japan Haruhiko Ohashi said: “Without software to install, the system provides a simple path for TUJ to easily manage their international payments.”
GlobalPay for Students was first introduced in Japan in 2017.
Earlier this year, JTB and Western Union struck a partnership to promote the solution.
TUJ COO/CIO Paul Raudkepp said: “We have experienced considerable growth in the number of overseas students coming to TUJ, so this system will allow us to handle the growth easily and make it simple and cost effective for our students to pay their tuition and fees.”
A branch campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, TUJ delivers graduate programmes in law, business, and education, as well as an English language programme, among others.
The university was set up in Tokyo in 1982.
