Tesco Bank has cancelled the credit cards of certain customers following concerns that some accounts have been compromised.
The bank has already issued replacement cards and said that only few cardholders of its total three million customers were affected.
It further added that money has not been taken from any of the accounts and the move was only a ‘precautionary’ step.
Tesco Bank spokesperson said: “We take the security of our customers’ accounts very seriously and take every measure possible to protect customers from fraudulent activity.
“As a result of routine industry-wide fraud protection measures, we have reissued a number of credit cards as a precautionary measure.”
In 2016, the bank faced similar challenges when it experienced a large-scale cyber attack on some of its customers’ current accounts.
