UnDosTres, a digital payments firm, has raised $6.5m in a funding round led by venture capital firms IGNIA and Dalus Capital.

The latest fundraising also had the participation of InnoCells, the corporate venture unit of Banco Sabadell.

With the new funds, UnDosTres aims to further develop its platform as well as expand its service offering for payment.

IGNIA founding partner Álvaro Rodríguez Arregui said: “The digital payments sector represents a very attractive opportunity for Mexico and Latin America, regions where most transactions are still made in cash.

UnDosTres enables Mexicans to pay through Android, iOS, desktop, and mobile web. The payments platform can be used for bill payments and transfers, mobile top-ups, movie ticket purchases, and toll payments.

InnoCells executive director Julio Martínez said: “UnDosTres resolves a real problem faced by Mexican users, offering a safe solution to increasing digital payment demand to acquire day to day services.
