UnionPay, Mekong Bank to issue co-branded cards in Cambodia

UnionPay International and Mekong Bank have partnered with Sokimex, a petroleum company, and Sovereign to issue co-branded cards in Cambodia.

The Sokimex co-branded debit card and Sovereign co-branded credit card are dual-currency cards of US dollar and Cambodian Riel. Both the cards are accepted on UnionPay’s global acceptance network.

The Sokimex co-branded debit card offers special discounts on gas and it is the first contactless payment product (Quickpass) of UnionPay issued in Southeast Asia.

Sovereign co-branded debit cards are divided into elite card and classic card, providing cardholders with special privileges.

The Sovereign co-branded debit cardholders can enjoy special discounts in clothing stores owned by the Sovereign Retail Group in addition to travel and emergency medical insurance.
