Chase Card Services, a co-brand credit card issuer in the US, and United Airlines have introduced a new credit card, United TravelBank Card, aimed at leisure travellers.

The no-annual fee credit card offers 2% cash back on United purchases and 1.5% cash back on all other purchases in TravelBank cash which can be used to buy a United flight ticket.

Furthermore, the cardholders will not have to pay any foreign transaction fees, trip cancellation/interruption insurance charges.

The credit card also offers auto rental coverage and 25% back as a statement credit for buying food and beverage onboard United-operated flights.

Chase president of co-brand cards Leslie Gillin said: “Cash-back credit cards continue to rise in popularity and we noticed an opportunity in this space for United customers – a no annual fee card with compelling travel benefits that rewards in TravelBank cash.

“Our research shows that leisure travellers are looking for the simplicity of a cash-back card coupled with the ability to redeem seamlessly for travel.”

United Airlines vice president of loyalty Praveen Sharma said: “The United TravelBank Card introduces a new way for customers to save on United flights by putting the TravelBank cash they’ve earned toward the cost of a ticket.

“We are celebrating 30 years of partnership on our co-brand card program with Chase and are thrilled to add a card for cash-back enthusiasts to our portfolio of industry-leading United MileagePlus cards.”
