Californian youth payments company Virtual Piggy has announced a deal to provide its payment system to games brand Marvelous USA.

The partnership with Virtual Piggy, an e-commerce solution allowing under 18s to spend and manage within boundaries set by parents, will give Marvelous USA greater access to the youth market.

Dr Jo Webber, Founder and CEO of Virtual Piggy, said: "Our payment solution is especially helpful for video game companies who encounter the issue of younger customers who want to make purchases or micro-transactions.

"We’re very excited to provide this option to Marvelous USA, and their wide range of games across many different platforms."

Marvelous USA releases games for a wide range of platforms, including Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Vita, Nintendo 3DS Wii and mobile platforms.

The deal with Virtual Piggy will allow the games company to ensure all transactions comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Shinichi Suzuki, President & CEO at Marvelous USA, said: "This partnership with Virtual Piggy will allow us to directly access the youth market in a safe manner,

"This opens up many opportunities, ranging from console and PC game purchases to in-app mobile and social micro-transactions. Best of all, Virtual Piggy will keep our purchases COPPA compliant."
