Visa has launched its online payments solution, Visa Checkout, in new markets with plans to extend the service to newer regions making it available in a total of 16 markets in 2015.
By the end of 2015, Visa Checkout will be offered in the markets, including the US, Australia, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Hong Kong, Peru, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and UAE.
Visa Checkout enables consumers to pay for shopping online at merchants who offer the service by storing their shipping and payment information in a secure account with Visa once without the need to re-enter their details everytime for each purchase.
Initially, in newly-enabled markets, Visa Checkout will be available for buying from merchants in the US, Australia and Canada and will be extended to select markets to support local commerce by incorporating issuer, merchant, acquirer, and channel partnerships.
Visa digital solutions senior vice president Sam Shrauger said: "Consumers and merchants alike love its simplicity and ease, which is particularly important as people shop and buy more frequently on smaller devices like phones and tablets.
"Building on this positive momentum, we are aggressively carrying the service into new markets across the world throughout 2015 and beyond."
