US-based VyStar Credit Union has integrated its mobile banking app with financial technology company Fiserv’s Card Controls App through a single sign on (SSO).

Intended for debit card users, the new service features alerting and card control capabilities. It enables cardholders to determine the usage of personal as well as business cards.

Users can leverage the app to set up transaction alerts to notify them upon use of their card in real-time. These alerts can be customised in terms of transaction amount or type, location and merchant.

In addition, Card Controls App allows monitoring of expenses through setting up of spending limits. Members can also turn off/on their cards in case of misplacement or theft.

The new service is also available for VyStar Health Savings Account (HSA) and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) cards.

VyStar Credit Union president and CEO Brian Wolfburg said: “Our new Card Control App lets our members protect the debit card in their wallet with the phone in their pocket, wherever they are, any time of the day.

“This app is ideal for our members who want to proactively monitor and manage their debit card accounts.”

Fiserv senior vice-president of product management for card services Dave Keenan said: “Financial institutions and their card users continue to live through high-profile financial information and data breaches.

“Solutions like the VyStar Card Controls App are extremely effective at addressing financial institution and cardholder security concerns, and helping cardholders themselves monitor their accounts and join the fight against fraud.”
