The Western Union Company has partnered with Public Joint Stock Company Commercial Bank PrivatBank (PJSC CB PrivatBank) to launch its money transfer services in Ukraine.
The service will allow Western Union customers in Ukraine to initiate online money transfers on www.westernunion.ua using their Visa or MasterCard credit cards and debit cards issued by any Ukrainian bank.
Western Union said that its cross-border FinTech platform enables a pay-in, pay-out capability that uses technology, foreign exchange conversion, data management, as well as regulatory, compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) infrastructure, to accelerate money movement across the world.
Western Union now offers online transactional services in 35 countries, allowing consumers to send money to more than 200 countries and territories.
Western Union Digital senior vice president Molly Shea said: "The launch of on-line services in Ukraine is consistent with our global growth strategy that will create additional opportunities for consumers and business."
PJSC PrivatBank deputy chairman of the board Alexander Vityaz said: "Western Union has become one of the pioneers in introduction of on-line access to the money transfer service, and now we are pleased to offer all people living in Ukraine the opportunity to send transfers virtually anywhere in the world in just a few clicks via their online service.
