Global money transfer company Western Union has announced the expansion of its mobile money transfer service to Nepal.
The new transfer service is the result of collaboration with Nabil Bank and FonePay, the owner of eSewa. More than 200,000 registered users of eSewa mobile wallet able to use the service once it goes live.

Customers in Nepal who subscribe to the eSewa mobile wallet will be able to receive international money transfers from Western Union agents worldwide or from senders using westernunion.com in 23 countries.
Patricia Riingen, senior vice president, East & South Asia, Western Union, said: "We are very pleased to launch mobile services to Nepal, and we remain committed to building our mobile network in strategic markets around the world."
Anil Gyawali, chief executive officer, Nabil Bank, said: "Nabil Bank is delighted to extend its long-standing relationship with Western Union to offer digital money transfer services to Nepal. Remittances are an important aspect of economic stability for the nation, as well as for local communities throughout the country."
Western Union presently offers services at through its retail agent at 5,600 locations in Nepal.
