Westpac customers can now use their Altitude Points towards purchases where Mastercard is accepted, without needing to use the existing redemption process. The bank says that it opens a world of possibilities when using points towards purchases.

Westpac’s ‘Pay With Points’ aims to make it simpler to view and use points instantly. Specifically, it enables customers to use their points for purchases and receive a cashback within moments. Customers can now switch on ‘Pay with Points’ through the Westpac app.

There is no limit on how many points cardholders can spend in one go and they don’t expire.

Jason Hair, Managing Director, Consumer Finance & Chief Digital Officer at Westpac said: “’Pay With Points’ is all about putting power back in our customers’ hands, giving them more convenience and choice and allowing them to use their points in ways that suit their lifestyle and preferences. Our customers have been asking for this and I’m delighted we’ve now delivered it.

“We know Aussies are tightening their belts at the moment. But opening up the ability to use points towards everyday purchases gives a little bit of flexibility that we know will be appreciated by our customers.”

In addition to using ‘Pay With Points’, Westpac customers can continue to redeem available points through the Altitude Rewards Centre for gift cards, travel, and cashback.
