Australian bank Westpac has extended the availability of its new American Express (AmEx) Westpac Altitude Platinum and Black credit cards to all of its customers.
The move follows a soft launch of the cards in January this year, where there were issued for only existing Westpac cardholders.
New Westpac customers will also be eligible for the new cards if and when they opt for the Altitude Platinum Visa Card or the Altitude Black Mastercard.
Holders of the AmEx cards will be able to opt for the Qantas Frequent Flyer or Westpac Altitude Rewards programme, and can benefit from offers provided by the bundled AmEx + Mastercard or Visa cards.
American Express vice-president of partnerships Adam Roberts said: “The bundled offering is a great option for consumers who might have previously held an American Express card issued by a bank, and for those who want to pool their points into an Altitude Rewards or Qantas Frequent Flyer account while enjoying the benefits that come with American Express.”
Cardmembers can earn Altitude or Qantas points on purchases made using the Platinum or Black cards.
While the Platinum card packs an annual fee of $49, the Black card holds it at $199. Both the cards charge an interest rate of 20.24%.
