Payments platform WiPay Caribbean has teamed up with global travel booking technology platform Xeni to introduce WiTravel

WiTravel is a service designed to streamline travel bookings across the Caribbean.

Xeni specialises in digital travel solutions, offering a B2B service that enables subscribers to resell travel online.

The collaboration utilises WiPay’s payment solutions, enabling users to access Xeni’s extensive travel inventory and real-time pricing.

WiPay’s platform is said to address challenges such as limited access to foreign currency and high transaction fees by enabling cross-border payments for Caribbean residents.

The partnership allows WiPay users to access booking processes and the travel technology available.

WiPay Caribbean CEO and founder Aldwyn Wayne said: “WiPay is at the forefront of revolutionising card and crypto payments in the Caribbean. Our partnership with Xeni opens new possibilities for purchasing travel. By integrating Xeni’s advanced travel technology with our robust payment platform, we’re enabling individuals and businesses to book and pay for travel with ease and security.”

Xeni’s platform offers businesses the ability to launch their own travel booking services, featuring wholesale-rate inventory, custom markup tools, a built-in CRM system, and system integrations.

The integration of these capabilities with WiPay’s payment platform promises to transform the travel booking and payment experience for Caribbean travellers.

Xeni’s infrastructure is built on the Hedera network, ensuring that all bookings are tracked, stored, and settled on the decentralised ledger.

Xeni president Rachel Obenshain stated: “Despite the growth in online payments worldwide, cash has remained the preferred payment method in Caribbean countries. Today, Caribbean residents can finally easily purchase travel online thanks to the WiPay/Xeni partnership.”
