German payment services firm Wirecard has teamed up with local furniture retailer Segmüller to enable the latter support mobile payments.
Under the agreement, Wirecard will provide a mobile payment solution that will allow the retailer’s customers to make invoice payments using their mobile devices or credit cards.
Wirecard will offer the digital payment technology for the initiative.
At the same time, the payments firm will be responsible for managing payments processing.
The mobile payment solution includes an app with an mPOS device that works alongside mobile devices like tablets and smartphones.
The app will enable the retailer to accept digital payments at a customer’s front door.

Segmüller branches are located in Frankfurt, Mannheim, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Weiterstadt, Friedberg, Parsdorf near Munich and Pulheim near Cologne.
