German payments firm Wirecard has unveiled enhanced software development kits (SDKs) for mobile in-app payments.
Accessible to iOS and Android users, the new proposition is said to ease the integration process of in-app payment options for merchants.
The offering will also support PCI compliance, the vendor said.
According to Wirecard, in-app payments generate “considerable revenue” for merchants.
The firm forecasts global mobile app revenues to increase to $189bn next year from $88bn in 2016.
Wirecard EVP payment and risk Sreelekha Sankar said: “Wirecard found out that around 40% of consumers prefer to make purchases using their mobile devices.
“This is why in-app payments are a significant element in our future vision and why offering these options is quickly becoming a necessity for merchants.
“In the future, every element of consumers’ daily financial lives will be digital – on public transport, at home, on holiday, in-store, all processes will be completed on mobile devices.”
