Wirecard, a German financial services and technology company, in collaboration with prepaid products provider 3V Benelux has launched its first virtual prepaid card for online payments in the Netherlands.
Dubbed pay2d Visa card, the new prepaid card solution enables Dutch users to pay online where Visa is accepted.
Wirecard said that the new online prepaid card offers a host of benefits, such as enabling consumer to top-up their accounts with iDeal or bank transfer, get a free international bank account number (IBAN), redeem to their bank account and carry out card to card transfers.
With the prepaid Visa card, consumers can top up any amount in advance, which allows them to exercise control on their spending.
3V Benelux managing director Angelique Brussel said: “For us, it’s a great step to launch this state of the art virtual prepaid card in the Dutch market.
“The product will be well accepted, especially with the younger generation that wants to buy things online without searching for their plastic cards. The top up function is an additional benefit regarding their cost control.”
