Wirecard has partnered with HEYTEA, a Chinese tea chain, to offer payment options for customers using the HEYTEA GO app in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Founded in 2012, HEYTEA operates more than 400 stores in nearly 37 cities across China and international markets. The company launched the new HEYTEA GO mobile app to reduce in-store queues and enhance operational efficiency.

Customers at all HEYTEA stores in Singapore and Hong Kong can use the app to order and pay online.

Under the partnership, Wirecard will integrate its payment technology with the mobile app. This will allow customers to pay on the HEYTEA GO app using their credit card.

HEYTEA public relations manager Kiki Zhou said: “In today’s digital world, we find it essential to incorporate technology in our operations and keep pace with customers’ preferences and expectations.

“In cooperation with Wirecard, we launched HEYTEA GO to improve customer experience where users can customise, order and pay for their drinks in a quick and seamless manner.”

Wirecard head of Business Development APAC Alson Lau said: “The launch of HEYTEA GO supports the growing trend of online-to-offline integration, and by integrating our payment technologies, we can provide more options to tech savvy customers while improving efficiencies for both customers and the retailer.”

Earlier this month, Wirecard teamed up with EasyTransfer to facilitate mobile payments for Chinese students. The companies are launching a new mobile payment and loyalty app for students studying outside China.
