Credit Agricole Payment Services, a subsidiary of French banking group Credit Agricole, has entered exclusive talks with German payments firm Wirecard to conclude a partnership for offering electronic payment services to merchant clients of the banking group’s banks in France and Europe.
By joining forces, the companies intend to offer differentiated services in electronic payment acceptance and acquiring.
These include plans to roll out cross-channel acceptance and pan-European acquiring services for French merchants and marketplaces in the domestic market and abroad.
“By capitalising on the respective strengths of Credit Agricole Payment Services and Wirecard, this partnership will enable both companies to grow in a rapidly changing market,” Wirecard said in a statement.
