Hospitality chain OYO has joined forces with German payments firm Wirecard to support digital payment capabilities.
Under the partnership, Wirecard will offer digital financial commerce-related services such as payment acceptance and issuance for OYO’s online, mobile and point-of-sale (POS) booking services.
Through the tie-up, the hospital provider will also gain access to Wirecard’s banking-as-a-platform capabilities.
Wirecard EVP group business development Georg von Waldenfels said: “The future of the travel industry is digital, with unified, integrated customer experiences across all channels – and this includes smooth and reliable digital financial processes such as we intend to provide to OYO around the world.”
The partnership would cover various international markets of OYO including the US, UK, Europe, and South-East Asia.
OYO chief strategy officer (global) Maninder Gulati said: “By easing the booking experience for our customers around the world and helping create value-added offerings, Wirecard can help us come closer to our goal of becoming the most preferred and trusted hospitality brand in the world.”
