Singapore’s Elush Retail Group has tapped German payments firm Wirecard to support its omnichannel sales strategy.

Brands operated by the retailer include iStudio, which is said to be Singapore’s largest Apple Premium Reseller, and EpiCentre for technology enthusiasts.

Currently, the retailer operates 16 iStudio and two EpiCentre brick-and mortar stores in Singapore. Furthermore it also has an online shop www.istudiosg.com.

It also plans to open the EpiCentre online store.

Wirecard will support digital in-store and online payments at all these locations.

Elush head of marketing Oshyn Kay said: “Elush Retail Group is dedicated to not only meeting our customers’ needs, but exceeding their expectations and offering an optimal shopping experience.

“We are happy to partner with Wirecard for digital financial commerce services. We look forward to advancing our cooperation as our business continues to expand.”

The partnership is said to be in response to increasing preference for digital payments by consumers in Singapore.

In this context, Wirecard cited data from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

The data revealed that over 8 in 10 Singaporean consumers utilise digital payments. In addition around three in five merchants in the city accept such payments.

Wirecard head of relationship management for APAC sales Judith Loh said: “The growth of digital payments in Singapore has brought significant advantages for consumers, who enjoy a seamless shopping experience, but also for retailers who see higher productivity.”
