Financial services and technology firm Wirecard, together with its Indonesian subsidiary PT Prima Vista Solusi, has collaborated with TransJakarta Busway that operates Bus Rapid Transit to support the public utility board with electronic ticketing system using point-of-sale (POS) terminal solutions.
The partnership will allow passengers of the Busway to pay for their ticket using stored-value contactless cards or their NFC-enabled mobile phone.
Wirecard will provide payment infrastructure and services for the firm besides facilitating the integration to the participating financial institutions, including Bank DKI, Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Central Asia, Bank Negara Indonesia and Bank Mega.
Diki Jatnika, head of debit and e-channel division at Bank Mega, said: "We are excited to jointly work with Wirecard to extend our reach to serve the people of Jakarta in their daily transactions."
Widhayati Darmawan, managing director of PT Prima Vista Solusi, added: "Our robust POS platform is coupled by proactive transaction monitoring system enable us to design optimal capacity to handle peak-time transactions."
