Wirecard and Stampay have teamed up to enable restaurants and SMEs to roll out takeaway and delivery services with contactless payments amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Under the arrangement, Wirecard will offer contactless payment options through the payment platform stampayGO, thereby allowing merchants to quickly start offering its customers takeaway and delivery service.
The companies will introduce two payment options: Scan&Pay and Click&Pay.
Using the Scan&Pay option, customers can pay for deliveries by scanning a QR code generated on the merchant’s smartphone.
The second method, Click&Pay allows customers to pay for their orders using the payment link they receive from the vendor on platforms such as WhatsApp, SMS, e-mail, or social media.
Wirecard executive vice president of product management Kilian Thalhammer said: “We are convinced that merchants and customers will appreciate the advantages of the two payment options Scan&Pay and Click&Pay in the long term as well.
“For merchants, this opens up the possibility of strengthening customer loyalty even more by means of a simplified customer journey.”
Stampay founder and CEO Joachim Sedlmeir said: “Wirecard is the perfect partner for us because we are both pursuing a common goal: Making payments smarter day by day.
“Stampay GmbH has no access to the users’ banking and payment data. The data is processed exclusively via Wirecard as a certified and globally operating payment service provider with the highest security standards. For Stampay, security is a top priority.”
Last week, Wirecard inked a deal to act as the preferred payment processor for Visa in the Middle East region to deliver fast-to-market digitised solutions.
Recently, S Sport Plus, the first sports streaming platform in Turkey, tapped Wirecard for payment processing.
Under the agreement, Wirecard will be responsible for processing all payments on the sports streaming platform. This covers new customer sign ups as well as recurring subscription payments.
