German payments firm Wirecard has bolstered its services in the Nordic retail market by onboarding various new customers.
The new customers are Nymans Ur, Royal Design, Svenssons i Lammhult, Rizzo and Accent.
The partnership with Wirecard will enable these retailers to accept Chinese payment methods at the point-of-sale.
Wirecard said that it will also enable retailers offer a “unified purchasing experience across all sales channels and touchpoints”.
In this context, Wirecard cited data by travel service provider Ctrip.
According to Ctrip data, the number of Chinese tourists in Nordic countries surged 82% in 2018 from the year ago.

By GlobalDataWirecard VP Sales Retail Fredrik Neumann said: “Payment will always be a part of retail, but Wirecard’s solutions extend far beyond that.
“Offering shoppers a smooth and efficient journey, from the moment they enter the shop, be it in-store or online or even both, to the moment they check out and receive their purchases, is at the core of our retail solutions.
“We are excited to be expanding our solutions across the Nordic market and look forward to onboarding even more merchants.”
Earlier this month, Wirecard partnered with Orange Money in Romania to support contactless payments.
