
The eCommerce division of WorldPay, an online and face to face payments provider has announced a 45% increase of transaction volumes compared to the first half of 2012.
In the first half of 2013, over 257m gateway transactions were processed and online transactions reached a record rate of 320 transactions per second.
WorldPay brought in new enhancements and updates over the last 6 months.
These include Multi-Currency Maestro Acceptance which allows merchants to accept multi-currency transactions on Maestro cards, and Bankout which enables merchants to make low-cost cross border payments.
In the last six months WorldPay has signed deals with JustGiving, and Secret Escapes to provide global payment processing services.
A deal was also agreed with Skype to accept QIWI Wallet Payments to improve local payment offerings in Russia.
Floris de Kort, CEO, eCommerce division WorldPay, said: "The growth that we have seen in the first half of 2013 is testament to the business commitment to product development and sector-specific relationship management."
De Kort added that the second half of 2013 looks set to be even more successful.
