Payment processor WorldPay will take charge of payment transactions of online travel club Secret Escapes.

The website runs sales on luxury holidays and hotels worldwide and has more than 2 million registered members. The two companies claim that the deal will allow Secret Escapes to accept a wide range of alternative payment types and extended global reach.

Shane Happach, WorldPay’s chief commercial officer, eCommerce division, said: "The challenge for retailers in this industry is to make travel booking as simple as possible, while still providing options for customers through the channel and currency they desire. Secret Escapes has ambitious growth plans in 2013 and we’re excited to be a part of that and support its international expansion helping them to provide the best online purchasing experience to their customers."

Recently, Secret Escapes announced it had secured £8m($12m) of new funding to re-enforce its position in the UK market and support expansion plans in the US, Germany and Nordic countries.
