Global payment processor WorldPay and fintech business Azimo have agreed a deal that will see WorldPay manage incoming payments for Azimo.
UK-headquartered Azimo provides payment processing services to consumers in over 190 countries and is integrated with Facebook so that consumers can send money to their contacts.
WorldPay will now provide acquiring services and alternative payment acceptance as Azimo looks to grow its business.
Shane Happach, chief commercial officer at WorldPay’s ecommerce department, said: "It has never been so important to provide customers with the optimum experience online so they can send money easily, fast and at the lowest cost to help maximise transactions, especially when looking to expand internationally.
"Key to Azimo’s cross-border expansion success is selecting a payment provider that can help capture the global opportunity, while providing a quick, secure and convenient experience to deposit money online."
Azimo CEO Michael Kent said: "Already a successful business in the UK, we were keen to rapidly expand our offering internationally but needed a payment provider with the experience, capabilities and knowledge of meeting consumer’s payment demands and preferences overseas.
