Worldpay has forged an alliance with Visa to introduce the Click to Pay feature to merchants in the UK.
This initiative will allow Worldpay customers using the company’s hosted payments pages to enable Click to Pay with Visa.
According to Worldpay’s research, 83% proportion of consumers expect a one-click checkout experience when shopping online.
The integration of Click to Pay is said to help merchants address the issue of cart abandonment for making checkout process simpler.
Visa Click to Pay is a card standard for online payments that eliminates the need to manually enter card details.
The said feature incorporates security measures, including tokenisation, employing encryption to safeguard payment information and making it unreadable for unauthorised transactions.
Worldpay EMEA general manager Pete Wickes commented: “Online retailers know the problems of the abandoned cart conundrum. In our research, we’ve found that nearly half of consumers who have abandoned their cart say there were too many steps in the checkout process. We add value for our clients providing them access to payments innovations like Click to Pay with Visa, and we go a step further by making it as easy as a switch of a button to turn it on without further integration work.”
Visa UK and Ireland managing director Mandy Lamb said: “Visa cardholders globally can now experience the convenience of our Click to Pay solution, and we’re delighted to be able to bring it to more merchants and consumers by partnering with a leader like Worldpay. One-click shopping online is now the expectation for many consumers and this partnership will help even more businesses in the U.K. to deliver on this.”
Last month, Worldpay announced thesition of Ravelin, an AI-native fraud prevention platform based in the UK.
This move is directed at enhancing Worldpay’s suite of value-added solutions and providing merchants globally with tools to combat the escalating incidence of fraudulent activities.
