WorldRemit, a UK-based digital money transfer service, has partnered with the international payment system CONTACT to expand instant money transfers across the CIS region.
The partnership allows CIS migrants in over 50 countries to transfer funds to over 3,300 new CONTACT cash pickup locations in Tajikistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia.
Now money transfers are as easy as sending a text message with just few taps from the phone and eliminates the need to visit an agent.
WorldRemit has previously launched money transfers with CONTACT to Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
WorldRemit founder and CEO Ismail Ahmed said: “CONTACT has become one of our most trusted partners – and this extension of our partnership will now allow recipients in Tajikistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia to receive money at a large number of new cash pick up locations.”
CONTACT vice-president for international development Elena Gafarova said: “A similar service, which we launched earlier in several countries, proved to be a huge success. We are pleased that thanks to our joint efforts with WorldRemit an increasing number of CIS countries are adapting to the up-to-date technologies of money transfers.”
