WorldRemit, a London-based online money transfer service, has rolled out its services across five countries in South America and Eastern Europe, as part of its global expansion strategy.

The expansion will allow WorldRemit’s customers to send money to friends and family in Chile, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Bulgaria.

In February this year, WorldRemit raised $100m in a funding round led by Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV).

WorldRemit VP for international product development Jeff Pietras said: "Our customers can send money instantly to their friends and family abroad with just a few clicks or taps on their smartphone and enjoy fair, transparent pricing."

WorldRemit offers a quick and low-cost way for people to send money to friends and family abroad. It allows people in 50 countries to send money to over120 destinations via their smartphone, tablet, or computer.
