Zapp has partnered with WorldPay to roll out mobile payments to thousands of merchant terminals and potentially millions of customers in the UK.
The partnership will see Zapp’s mobile payment system used in big name UK high street stores from 2014.
Peter Keenan, chief executive, Zapp, said: "I am delighted to announce this partnership between Zapp and WorldPay to roll out Zapp mobile payments in 2014.
"WorldPay is a crucial partner in the establishment of the Zapp payment eco-system that will deliver benefit for financial institutions, retailers and customers alike."
WorldPay is keen to expand its reach in the payments processing world in Europe, as it demonstrated earlier this year with the launch of mobile MPoS solution Zinc.

Payments system Zapp was unveiled by Vocalink earlier this year and is aiming to bring m-payments to millions of British users by 2014. Zapp can be incorporated into PoS terminals and allows customers to pay by NFC, contactless or QR codes. It can also be used online.
