Biometric fintech firm Zwipe has partnered with Hong Kong-based Asia Credit Card Production (ACC), a specialist smart card manufacturer, to launch a suite of biometric payment products and services.
The partnership will mainly work on biometric payment cards. ACC is committed to begin issuing biometric payment cards this year.
Zwipe’s biometric inlay platform has begun integrating with ACC’s smart card production facility as it braces up for the roll-out of Zwipe Pay ONE platform later this year.
The Zwipe Pay ONE platform is powered by a single-chip biometric secure element that includes the operating system and proprietary software.
ACC managing director Gary Li said: “Working now to integrate Zwipe’s technology, we are confident that we will have a truly disruptive offering that will enable us to significantly grow our banking customer base in the region and beyond.”
ACC is currently completing the application process for full card scheme certification to expand its offerings to issuers across the APAC region.
The tie-up between Zwipe and ACC goes beyond physical cards to cover wearable devices and customer onboarding solutions.
Zwipe CEO André Løvestam said: “We continue to build our global portfolio of customer relationships, which will be instrumental in the roll-out of future products. The partnership with ACC will further broaden our access to the Asian markets.”
Recently, Zwipe joined forces with IDEX Biometrics. The partnership enables the integration of IDEX Biometrics sensors with the Zwipe Pay ONE platform.
