Revolut launches RevPoints loyalty programme

First pan-European debit loyalty card programme turns daily expenses into exclusive rewards

Douglas Blakey June 18 2024

Revolut has launched RevPoints, allowing customers to turn their everyday spending into rewards. These will include airline miles and exclusive discounts on travel, accommodation and experiences.

According to Revolut, RevPoints offers broad and accessible redemption options that cater to a variety of lifestyles and preferences, without needing a credit card. Customers can transfer their RevPoints to 30+ airline loyalty programmes. These include British Airways Executive Club and Flying Blue. The aim is to make travel more attainable than ever in spite of surging flight prices.

Additionally, RevPoints can be redeemed for significant discounts on premium holiday accommodation and experiences through the Lifestyle tab within the Revolut app. For everyday convenience and rewards, points can also be used for discounts at top brands such as French Connection and Dermalogica when shopping online with Revolut Pay.

Depending on the plan, users can earn up to 1 point per pound spent. They can also accelerate their earnings by converting spare change into points, completing in-app challenges or on in-app bookings for Stays and Experiences.

New users obtain 3,000 points (equivalent to 3,000 air miles or up to £60 in travel discounts) after making 150 eligible transactions. Plus, users can receive up to 10,000 bonus points by upgrading their plan and meeting spending thresholds within the first 90 days.

For those on Revolut’s Ultra plan, customers spending £2,500 a month could earn up to 30,000 RevPoints annually. Revolut says that that is enough for a free round trip from London to New York or a £600 hotel discount.

Over 1 billion RevPoints earned since trial debuted in September 2023

Nearly 120 million points have been redeemed by Revolut users across seven European markets since the trial launched.

Christopher Guttridge, General Manager of Lifestyle Products at Revolut, said: “At Revolut we’re all about helping people get more for their money. RevPoints is set to transform everyday spending into things and experiences people love, by converting routine purchases into rewards. Unlike many loyalty programmes, we make RevPoints accessible to all by ensuring customers can maximise the benefits of using Revolut as their primary bank account without requiring a credit card.”

In addition, Revolut customers on Metal and Ultra plans will also benefit from new lifestyle enhancements depending on their plan type.
