Payfort, a Dubai-based online payment gateway, has acquired White Payments, a Dubai startup that offers online payments solution to small businesses and startups.

Payfort plans to leverage White Payments’ platform to create a new program called START, which will enable start-ups and small businesses fast-track their online payment options.

Payfort will integrate White Payments’ applications into its payment gateway services as well as gain access to White Payments’ technology and team.

White Payments has developed a suite of plug-ins and APIs (application programming interfaces) that enable online payment functionality to be integrated into websites within minutes.

Commenting on the deal, Payfort managing director Omar Soudodi said: "The acquisition of White Payments will allow us to extend our solutions to an even wider customer base and empower thousands of entrepreneurs across the region to accelerate their businesses by harnessing online payment technology."
